Spermidine is a polyamine that is naturally found in living organisms and is a critical player in the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. Some foods that are rich in spermidine include green pepper, cauliflower, broccoli, grapefruit, aged cheese, mushrooms, legumes, as well as whole grains. Spermidine may be used to help delay signs of aging, decrease the risk of liver fibrosis and hepatocellular carcinoma, reduce risk of cardiovascular diseases, promote autophagy and cell renewal, reduce risk of age-related neurodegeneration diseases (such as Parkinson’s disease), improve memory, stimulate hair growth, boost energy, aid with weight loss, and promote healthy longevity.
