L-Methionine is an essential amino acid that contains sulfur and is found naturally in meat, fish, eggs, and dairy products. It can also be found in some fruits and vegetables; however, at much lower levels. L-Methionine is important to maintain normal health as it helps the body make and use proteins, metabolize fats, protects the body from free-radical damage (since it’s an antioxidant), plays a role in DNA methylation, and produces the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine. L-Methionine may be used to support the liver and tissues and may help treat joint pain and stiffness, general pain, headaches, nausea, hair loss, and depression.
