Pterostilbene is an antioxidant naturally found in various plants and nuts including blueberries, grape leaves, almonds, and peanuts. It is a methylated stilbene having both a structure and action similar to resveratrol (a polyphenol). Commonly it is used to help treat diabetes and elevated blood glucose, cardiovascular health, and cognitive function. It may also be used to help support weight loss, reduce inflammation, improve memory, and control blood pressure levels. Pterostilbene may also play a role in DNA repair and thus promote healthy aging.
