Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker widely used in the treatment of high blood pressure (i.e. hypertension) as well as coronary artery disease. It relaxes smooth muscles in the blood vessels, thus reducing resistance to blood flow. It is commonly used in combination with other conventional medications. Consider combining it with other ICs for hypertension such as Coenzyme Q10, taurine, hawthorn, or others.
