Schizandra (We wei zi in Chinese medicine) is used in hundreds of classical Chinese herbal formulas. Main schizandra uses and indications include nocturnal emission, enuresis, frequent urination, chronic cough, deficiency-type asthma, spontaneous sweating, night sweats, thirst due to fluid loss, chronic diarrhea, shortness of breath accompanied with feeble pulse, diabetes caused by internal heat, heart palpitations and insomnia.
