Estradiol is the most powerful estrogen and the one most commonly prescribed in the treatment of menopausal symptoms including hot flashes, and also as a topical for the treatment of vaginal dryness and atrophy. This IC should never be used by women with an ER+ (estrogen-positive) cancer of any type.
