Venlafaxine is one of the most widely prescribed anti-depressants on the market. It is in the class of selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. In addition to use in the treatment of depression, it is widely used "off-label" in the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, migraine headaches, and menopausal hot flashes.
