Aspirine, also known as acetylsalicylic acid, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. It may reduce inflammation, pain, and fever. It is indicated for mild to moderate pain, such as headaches, toothache, osteoarthritis, and other rheumatic conditions. If you have heavy and painful periods, aspirin is not the most appropriate drug because it acts on the platelets, the blood cells that enable clotting, and thins the blood. As a result, aspirin can increase the amount of blood loss during menstruation.
