Hi Francesca, yes, if it does not light up then need to double-check that the audio volume is set to the maximum level on your phone or computer after your start the transfer . All electronics are well isolated, but we don't have complete tests underwater. Some people put it underwater and it is okay. Before charging IC Pad you need to make sure there is no water left in the USB port.
