Because we can not calculate the "informational complexity" of ICs at the moment we suggest just a rule of thumb for a maximum number of included ICs into complexes, based on what practitioners determined. Because we can not calculate the "informational complexity" of ICs at the moment we suggest just a rule of thumb for a maximum number of included ICs into complexes, based on what practitioners determined. It would be good practice to start from a single IC (with just one ingredient), then small complexes (up to 6 ICs), and later (if needed) try larger complexes and see how it works for you.
