Fermented black garlic, or black garlic, is made by fermenting fresh garlic. The fermentation process enhances bioactivity as well as improves antioxidative properties (black garlic has twice the level of antioxidant properties as raw garlic). Black garlic may be used to help regulate blood sugar levels and manage diabetes, boost immune system function, reduce blood pressure, improve cholesterol levels, protect the heart, lower the risk and fight against some cancers, support healthy cognitive function, protect the brain from memory loss, reduce the risk of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson’s disease, decrease inflammation, and protect the liver.
