VIP, also known as Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide, is a peptide hormone found in the pancreas, intestine, and central nervous system. It may be used to help reduce inflammation in the body, regulate the immune system, lower blood pressure, relax the GI tract’s smooth muscles, and increase the amount of water released by the GI tract. VIP may also help with neurodegenerative disease, pulmonary fibrosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and cardiac fibrosis.
