Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic medication used to treat various types of parasite infections. In humans, it may be used to treat certain worm infections, head lice, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis (whipworm infection), ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis. In veterinary medicine, ivermectin may be used to help prevent and treat heartworm, mites, intestinal parasites, and acariasis.
