Native to Indonesia, cloves are mainly known for their antibacterial properties (bacteria, microbes, viruses). It is also an effective antiseptic and a recognized anti-inflammatory. Externally, cloves can be used to disinfect wounds, relieve dental pain as well as fight against bad breath. Internally, its antibacterial action soothes urinary tract infections, kidney stones, and cystitis. Cloves are also a good local anaesthetic.
