Lactoferrin is a naturally occurring protein found in human and cow milk. It is found in the highest concentrations in colostrum, which is the first type of milk produced after a baby is born. Lactoferrin is also found in other fluids such as saliva, tears, mucus, and bile. One of the roles of lactoferrin is to bind and transport iron throughout the body and therefore, it may be used to help increase iron levels especially in women who are pregnant. Other uses of lactoferrin may also include support iron absorption, protect the body from infections (such as H. pylori, Hepatitis, etc.), decrease acne, improve bone health and prevent osteoporosis, treat stomach and intestinal ulcers, prevent cancer, stimulate the immune system, promote healthy gut bacteria, treat diarrhea, and prevent damage related to aging. This IC was made with the help of lactoferrin derived from bovine (cow's) milk.

Do you know the source of this lactoferrin IC (e.g. colostrum, etc.)? Also, any knowledge of its apo-lactoferrin content, which is lactoferrin without the iron attached? I have a family history of hemochromatosis and have heard apo-lactoferrin can help with iron overload.
