Peppermint is a hybrid mint created from blending water mint and spearmint. In addition to improving the flavor and fragrance of foods and other products, it is also used for medicinal purposes for thousands of years. Peppermint has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties. Peppermint may be used to help boost energy, fight fatigue, improve concentration, ease headaches and migraines, relieve digestive symptoms (such as gas, bloating, and indigestion), reduce symptoms related to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), decrease inflammation, ease menstrual cramps, improve sleep, suppress appetite, lower weight, relieve sinus congestion, and reduce inflammation and muscle pain.
