The oceans and seas are home to a vast array of organisms, minerals, and other substances, some of which can be harmful to humans and other animals. For example, certain types of algae can produce toxins that can cause illness. There can also be pollutants in the water from human activities such as industrial waste, sewage, and oil spills. These pollutants can have serious impacts on marine life and can also make the water unsafe for human use. Additionally, natural phenomena such as red tides, which are caused by certain species of algae, can also be harmful to humans and marine life alike.
