Catarrhal gastritis is a simple acute gastritis, that is the inflammation of the mucous membrane of the walls of the stomach. May occur with normal or excessive secretion of mucus - usually superficial or with the damage of gastric glands without the atrophy. Predominantly catarrhal gastritis occurs in young men and women.
