Angelica sinensis, commonly known as dong quai or female ginseng, is a root that has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. It is a powerful female fertility tonic herb that tonifies and strengthens the uterus by regulating hormonal control. It may be used to help decrease menopausal symptoms (including hot flashes), reduce menstrual cycle symptoms (including cramps and migraines), regulate the menstrual cycle, build blood health, improve blood circulation, boost the immune system, decrease premature ejaculation, relax bowels, relieve pain, decrease blood clots, lower blood pressure, and support heart health. Angelica sinensis should not be used by pregnant women as it may stimulate the muscles of the uterus to contract.
