Strophantus is a plant that contains the highest concentration of ouabain found in nature. Ouabain is a cardiac glycoside that is used conventionally in the treatment of low blood pressure and heart irregularities. It is used "off label" to treat congestive heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and general cardiovascular debility. Ouabain is toxic in high doses. It is strongly recommended that this IC be initially taken as a single drink of IC water 3x daily for 14 days before increasing the amount if necessary. This allows sufficient time to gauge the individual response.

Dr. Tom Cowan, heart specialist, describes indigenous use of Strophantus for heart issues. He recommends it too, and he never recommends stuff!
