Azithromycin is used to treat a number of bacterial infections including middle ear infections, strep throat, lung infections (e.g. pneumonia), certain intestinal infections (e.g. traveler's diarrhea), and some sexually transmitted diseases (i.e. gonorrhea, chlamydia).
