Adenomyomatosis of the gallbladder is a benign condition characterized by hyperplastic changes of unknown etiology involving the gallbladder wall and causing overgrowth of the mucosa, thickening of the muscular wall, and can lead to the formation of gallbladder diverticula (pockets).
