Methadone is an opioid pain reliever most commonly used in the management of chronic pain. It is also used to transition people away from other abused opioids. There is a strong caution against the use of methadone in combination with alcohol. For that reason, it is prudent to not use methadone IC water within 6 hours of alcohol consumption.
