Bilberry, often referred to as European blueberry or huckleberry, is full of nutrients and beneficial compounds such as anthocyanin, a powerful antioxidant. Bilberries have been used for medicinal purposes since the Middle Ages and are considered a superfood. Bilberries may be used to help improve vision (especially night vision), reduce eye fatigue, decrease eye dryness, fight inflammation, lower blood sugar levels, improve heart health, boost brain function, reduce symptoms of ulcerative colitis, decrease gum inflammation, and promote digestive health.
