Huperzine A is a compound that comes from the plant called Chinese club moss (Huperzia Serrata). It acts as a cholinesterase inhibitor, which prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine (a learning neurotransmitter). Huperzine A promotes brain health and cognition and is a common ingredient in nootropic supplements. Huperzine A may be used to help support learning and memory, increase acetylcholine levels, improve quality of sleep, increase REM sleep and lucid dreaming, treat Alzheimer’s disease, and protect against age-related cognitive decline.
