Fisetin (3,3′,4′,7-tetrahydroxyflavone) is a bioflavonoid antioxidant, which can be found in various fruits and vegetables, such as strawberries, apples, grapes, mangoes, onions, and cucumbers. It has recently been suggested that fisetin shows potential as an anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive, chemotherapeutic, anti-aging, and senotherapeutic agent. Fisetin may be used to help prevent the replication of damaged DNA as well as it may help reduce inflammation, boost heart health, improve memory, control blood sugar levels, reduce depression and anxiety, support healthy cells, improve skin health, and support cognitive function. Interestingly, a 2018 study found that of the 10 flavonoids investigated, fisetin was the most potent senolytic (a class of small molecules that are the center of today’s anti-aging research).
